Tourism website specializing in Moroccan tours.

Agadir is Morocco’s premier beach resort and the Atlantic coast’s most modern, cosmopolitan city — rebuilt entirely from scratch after a catastrophic 1960 earthquake and today offering Morocco’s finest beaches, most developed tourism infrastructure, and a relaxed, open atmosphere that welcomes visitors year-round. Agadir Bay stretches for 10 kilometers in a perfect crescent of golden sand, sheltered from Atlantic swells by a natural headland and blessed with over 300 sunny days per year. The beach is impeccably maintained, lined with a wide corniche promenade, beach clubs, water sports centers, and seafood restaurants. The ocean temperature is warm enough for swimming year-round — the Canary Current moderates temperatures, keeping them between 18°C in winter and 24°C in summer. The Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, on the hilltop above the city, survived the earthquake and offers extraordinary panoramic views over the bay, the city, and the Atlantic — especially spectacular at sunset. The inscription above its gate, “Fear God and respect the King,” dates to 1746. Agadir’s souks — the Souk El Had (the largest in Morocco by surface area) and the reconstructed medina of Agadir built by Italian artist Coco Polizzi — offer a more relaxed shopping experience than Marrakech or Fès, with similar crafts but without pressure selling. The surrounding Souss Valley is one of Morocco’s most productive agricultural regions, famous for its argan trees (found nowhere else in the world), citrus groves, and market gardens. Argan oil — liquid gold — has been produced here for thousands of years by Berber women’s cooperatives and is the basis of the region’s thriving cosmetics and culinary export industry. Top experiences: Agadir Beach and Corniche | Kasbah of Oufella sunset views | Souk El Had | Argan cooperative visit | Souss-Massa National Park (flamingos and ostriches) | Surfing at Taghazout (18km north) | Day trip to Taroudant (the “mini-Marrakech”) | Paradise Valley waterfall hike. Best time to visit: Year-round (best beach weather: April–October). Airport: Al Massira (AGA). Altitude: sea level.
