3 Days Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour

Our first major highlight is a guided exploration of the legendary Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fortified clay city is a masterpiece of Moroccan earthen architecture and has served as the cinematic backdrop for iconic films like Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Game of Thrones.

After a leisurely lunch, we continue through Ouarzazate, known as the "Hollywood of Africa" due to its famous movie studios. Moving further east, we travel along the striking "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" before winding our way into the lush green oasis of the Dades Valley. We conclude our day at a charming, comfortable Riad tucked inside the valley, where a traditional Moroccan dinner awaits.

After a fresh breakfast at your Riad, we depart the Dades Valley and journey toward the spectacular Todra Gorge. This massive limestone canyon features vertical rock walls that tower 300 meters overhead, creating a narrow, awe-inspiring passage. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the cool riverbed to marvel at this geological wonder.

Next, our route takes us through the palm groves of Tafilalet and the town of Erfoud, globally renowned for its unique fossil excavations and marble factories. As the afternoon progresses, the landscape shifts dramatically as we approach the edge of the true Sahara at Merzouga.

Here, you will trade your vehicle for a private caravan of camels. Embark on an enchanting 1-hour camel trek across the vast, rolling waves of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes just as the sun sets, casting unforgettable deep orange and purple hues across the desert horizon. You will arrive at a hidden, Luxury Desert Camp where a warm welcome, an authentic Moroccan feast, live Berber drum music around a roaring campfire, and a private en-suite tent under a brilliant canopy of stars await you.

We will pause for a relaxing lunch and a rest break back in Ouarzazate before tackling our final drive across the High Atlas Mountains. As the dramatic peaks give way to the plains, we arrive back in Marrakech in the evening (typically between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM).
